Scientists have warned us for at least 50 years.
Human waste must eventually go somewhere,
Including to our soil, air, and seas.
Slowly the Earth's temperature is increasing,
Causing multiple challenges for all life.
Nepal and Tibet have just demonstrated
A new phenomenon.
Peaceful valley villages were suddenly buried,
Including hundreds of inhabitants.
What has caused this horrific event?
Well, inevitably with a warming Earth,
The mountain centries-old ice is slowly melting,
Forming isolated lakes that suddenly break through,
(In this case also part of the actual glacier),
The flash flood careening downward,
Taking along soil, rocks, and vegetation.
This was certainly a tragedy, but beware,
There will be many more morphing,
Equalling the destruction of the one today.
